<Do you think all of this killing is going to end just because US troops leave?>

We can only know one thing with certainty: The unilateral invasion of Iraq by the US is responsible for the killings now taking place in Iraq. We have almost certainly destroyed any chance for peace, security and political progress in Iraq. If our mission was to destroy Iraq and promote terrorism then we can say with pride 'mission accomplished'. On the other hand, if we actually wanted to thwart terrorism and to help the people in Iraq we can say that our invasion of Iraq triggered the worst political and national security mess in living memory.

The invasion of Iraq is not a source of deep shame for the US and a national security blunder. For Iraq, the only options left are bad ones. Civil and regional wars are now going to be very difficult to contain and terrorism never had it so good.

Meanwhile back at the ranch the President stays busy with the truly pressing issues of the day like banning gay marriage -- pathetic.
