John, this certainly isn't the first time that a trade mag has made such a dumb call. Basically, backward compatibility is no more important to corporate users than to home users. Since the combination of a Zip and a floppy is a) more convenient to use, b) faster, and c) cheaper, the corporate buyer has no motivation to go with the LS-120.

As for a laptop version to be released soon, hey, they don't even have the aftermarket full-size version out yet. They keep delaying it. But since this article was put to bed around the middle of June, most likely, the author didn't know that. He or she just took the manufacturer's word. I don't believe we'll see a laptop LS-120 for at least another six months.

Compaq, the only computer maker committed to LS-120 is putting it on a big TWO models. As an OPTION. Hardly a solid testimonial.

PC Today is not one of the more widely read magazines anyway. Don't let their silly opinion scare you.
