Nadine, anyone who says Iraq is moving in the right direction is nuts. The country's fallen apart and is sliding to hell in a hand-basket. Every day gets worse and US troops don't know what the hell to do because they're caught in the middle of the bloody mess, but can't tell who's friend or foe until after they're fired on. And even then the enemy is usually uncatchable because they use IED's and longrange potshots. The government of Iraq has almost no control over security either. Which is why nightmares like Haditha happen.

This is a textbook quagmire war without direction, without a clear goal and staying there defies any common sense.
And the whole problem is based on the pisspoor planning and dishonest, arrogant mis-leadership of the civilians in the White House and Pentagon, especially Cheney, Rumsfield and Bush, but also Wolfowitz and a few others.
