Similarly, if you formed some kind of fair political solution, that is what they would have taken. However political solution demands equity of power, otherwise, the human nature being what it is, the much stronger would never negotiate in fair manner with the much weaker party...so that brings us to where we are.


Chamberlain thought so. However, he found that Hitler was working with a definition of "fair" that was fundamentally incompatible with the British definition of "fair", as it involved the Third Reich conquering Europe.

But all the way through, Hitler claimed he only wanted what was "fair" for the Germans.

Arafat and Hamas just wanted/want what is "fair" too. But their "fair" is a one state solution - no Israel.

Just a reminder that it is not "fair" (if I dare use the word) to judge the result of negotiations purely on whoever you deem to have been the more powerful at that moment.
