Bill,
I think there will be a time to sell AVNT short but I don't think its now. The historical greats on the short side for the most part have had ample opportunity to put a position on after the confirmation of the decline. Sure, you may miss a few points but who actually sells at the high? Patience is the watchword at this time. A lot of newer investors follow the chat on these boards and most don't have the experience that you seem to display and are devistated when their short position at 29 3/4 (Asensio timing)is now 33 1/2. As experienced investors we can offer guidance to these investors instead of BUY, BUY, BUY, or SELL, SELL, SELL, that screams out from these chat boards most of the time. Take a look at some of the boards and try to identify with the investors who are waiting for their stock to recover to the point where they bought it after listening to the advice offered by fellow investors that positioned at lower prices and are now hypeing the stocks. As reasonable people we must recognize the need to have confidence in our investments and not blindly follow the reports of others, only then can you be comfortable with your positions. This may be the "Mother of All Shorts" and I hope that it is but for now I am waiting for confirmation.
