I'm not really talking about NGOs or anything growing out of the current UN. But over centuries political and cultural institutions changes. Even the Rome only lasted a bit over a thousand years. In the centuries to come there might not be a Somalia or Sudan or France or a US or a UN, or if they still exist they might be very different. Having a world wide government in such a time frame doesn't necessarily mean dumping the US and our constitutional rights for the UN.

I imagine human nature will be very much the same in say 2500 AD. But I don't understand your point in bringing up the issue. Whatever the nature of the political institutions at the time, be it world government, or total balkinization they will be human institutions (barring something human extinction or alien invasion, or something along those lines). If there is a world government it will be run by people with fallible human natures, and if there isn't a world government the governments that exist will be run by people with fallible human natures. I really don't get your point.
