Drunk, out of gas woman steals mower

WARREN — A 24-year old Warren woman mowed a path to jail Thursday after police said she stole a lawn mower and drove to her Nilo Hill Road home.

At about 8 p.m., Shawna Maker was arrested for operating under the influence of a motor vehicle and charged with theft, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

Maker’s vehicle ran out of gas and she stole a riding lawn mower and drove it home. Chief Deputy Todd Butler said he was unsure how far from home the woman was when she stole the mower. The sheriff’s office located Maker in her driveway, he said.
