Just because you can't fathom a "missing link"
You are making presumptive and inaccurate judgements here, of course I certainly can fathom such a creature... the only problem is that there is no evidence brought forward by anyone to show a link... yes, our organs are very similar, but so what... I can do better than that, all of us are made up of the exact same carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen atoms that all molecules in the universe are made of... but that doesn't prove anything except that we're all made of the same basic components... but show me the bones of a half man half monkey... show me the bones of a half fish half bird... those drawings that suggest such creatures are just cartoon drawings, they're not real... now, if you want to be empirical and scientific about it, then you must first have empirical evidence to support your theories... without any evidence, you have nothing buy theory, nothing but blind faith (just like religion) that those creatures ever existed anywhere...
