Ann COULTER, Mark Steyn, etc have way too much bile to be humorous, as you pointed out. There are lots of people who find them very funny. I have found each of them funny at times although I avoid reading them because I find nasty rants distasteful. I think the comments here about them being funny is more a function of agreement/disagreement than funny/unfunny.
