RCVJr, SOES stands for small order execution system and was designed for individual investors after the crash of 1987 to provide liquidity for the public customer, and it has become a popular tool for daytrading since its inception. It allows investors direct access to the NASDAQ market and its market makers. SOES allows individuals to electronically trade with the market makers who are currently advertising to sell or buy at specified prices.
