The following i do not say lightly.

If you are right and the end game for islam is a war between shiaa and sunni, why should i care? Better they fight each other than us? As for the oil, the war you allude to is at least a decade off. Thats what irans nukes might be for. Israel may be a hoax to enable them to acquire nukes right under the eyes of the saudis et al.
During this time, it becomes even more critical that the west gets over its dependence on middle east oil. A mixture of renewable fuels, non-renewal from secure areas and conservation can do the trick.
You just put things in global context for me although i am uncertain that your scenario on irans aims is completely accurate. Mike
