Are you woodrow wilson reincarnated? Understand the limitations of power before offering to become involved anywhere and everywhere. As for energy, if you are right about iran, it wont matter much about how cheap a resource oil is, it just wont be available on that day the islamic war begins. Marshall plan now and/or just sieze the oil now for the good of mankind. I bet there would be chinese troops alongside our own to protect the oil while hte moslems kill each other. And truth be told, it wouldnt be that hard to replace arab workers with chinese and others. And we wouldnt be fighting an insurgency--it would be a good old WW2 massive force to hold the oil areas. Hell that we could do.
