98% of the corruption is rightwing GOP now.

Pelosi was the first to demand Jefferson be investigated. So quit lying about that. Democrats do not cover up and defend corruption. In fact we are sometimes too eager to punish our own. We are accused of being TOO ethical. We didn't throw mud back at Bush's smear jockeys. We played right into the phony Whitewater investigation even though there was nothing there. We let the liars call Clinton a rapist and murderer. But we sacked Trafficante, Rostenkowski, Espy and now (probably) Jefferson. All bad apples.

Meanwhile the rightwing leadership still has not done investigation #1 of its own massive corruption scandals, including every top GOP congressman, Bill Frist, Rick Santorum and Denny Hastert, plus Karl Rove, Jack Abramoff, Grover Norquist, Ralph Reed and the White House itself.

Of course Tom Delay is the biggest crook of them all. But it took a courageous outside investigation to nail him. The GOP refused to police Delay. Bush even defended him. So tens of billions in taxpayer money was squandered and ripped off.

However, Jefferson does deserve to tell his side of the story. Why not? Maybe he has some kind of valid defense. But I doubt it. And so do all democrats who've heard about this. 90% chance Jefferson is outta there, and we're happy he's going. Democrats do not have tolerance for crooks.
