A 2.33GHz frequency was the most likely target.

And the TDP on both Merom chips is a full 35w not counting the 965 chipset, not less, so clearly Turion X2 will use less power.

Merom will use the more energy efficient 945 chipsets just like Yonah. The 965 chipsets are being talked about for Conroe DTR computers, but a 945 chipset would work just as well if not better.

With a price of $637, Intel is signaling that T7600's will be rare beasts.

That is the typical Pentium M/Core Duo high end price. It signals Intel wants to support their mobile ASPs.
