Think we have to take dire predictions of SSB made on basis of lower motherboard shipments in April with a BIG GRAIN OF SALT.

SSB said, (from BUGGI's link) "End-Demand Indicators Weak. Indications of a weaker PC environment have been
plentiful recently. As a reminder:
• Tier-1 motherboard shipments in April were below plan, down 23% m/m..."

It was also mentioned by that PESKY FLY.

But, from here digitimes.com you can see that Q1 2006 motherboard shipments were unbelievably strong, up 133% (2.33x) year over year. And they complain of a drop in April? One big reason is that for AMD, motherboards are being shifted from S939 to AM2.

BTW, why is it that I can still read this month-old Digitimes story?
