The SF Chronicle reporters are well connected with folks doing these investigations and most likely they will be breaking news about other MLB players who have been named to be using HGH...I would bet A LOT of the players are very worried right now...most of them thought the steroid investigations would die down...they also knew as long as they didn't have to submit blood tests they could get away with taking things like HGH...there is so much money in baseball and the pressure to perform is amazing...think about Kerry Wood....He had great talent as a young pitcher but has battled injuries and has never lived up to his potential...the Cubs have spent tens of millions on Kerry Wood and there is intense pressure on a player like him to return and pitch like once did...HGH accelerates healing...Yet, there clearly are side effects that have never been studied carefully...I'm not saying Kerry Wood is taking HGH but it wouldn't surprise me if he has...Many other pitchers (on almost every team) probably have tried HGH or are using it...I'll bet some of the very strong position players use it too...Yet, now all the players will be uneasy as they don't know if they may be forced to get into a new testing regime that would motivate them to stop using any illegal enhancements...Will some of these amazing numbers drop off...? I don't know...We'll see how it all plays out...Yet, I would bet there will be a lot of lawyers advising the players and the MLB union.
