I'm not surprised one bit, but it is remarkable. You may or may not know that INFOSEC programs are taking budget hits right now. INFOSEC doesn't support GWOT, it's not important.

I would agree.. it's tremendously sad. There's no reason these people should be taking personal information on Vets home with them.

And Infosec is one those things that really requires constant vigilance given the constant changes in technology.

If successful, 2.2 million personal x $1K per....$2.2B

I wonder if I'm one of them.. A thousand bucks is a thousand bucks.. ;0)

Folks will just have to monitor their credit reports and watch for unauthorized credit card applications, etc.

Other than that, the only danger that comes to mind is some wacko obtaining the information and using it to physically target Vets for attacks, or to obtain "dirt" on their personal lives.
