If his mental equation is "conservative" equals "John Bircher", than I can see where he is coming from, and I think his statements might be accurate about them, but I would disagree with the equation.

Both he and Ayn Rand developed a huge dislike of political "conservatives" for the reasons AJ stated.

From what I can tell Ayn Rand even took a dislike to many libertarians (and wouldn't call herself libertarian), anyone who would not totally accept her ideas was an opponent.

Just remember, no matter who you vote for, the government always gets in. :>)
