Plenty do, and including multitasking with several apps rather than just multithreading in a single app, makes dual-cores even more useful. Do most users NEED it? No. Well over 90% of users don't NEED a 64-bit desktop processor now, and 80+% of users don't NEED anything more powerful than a Sempron 3100+. The point is if someone is giving away dual-core for "free" or close to free then it eventually will become quite popular.
