Doug - Intel doesn't primarily sell to end users. When your Netburst chips use more power, it requires a lot more of the OEM in infrastructure inside the PC to support powering and cooling it. More cost. Why bother when you can get AMD chips that have lower requirements for a hair more, and not have to deal with it?

Edit: AMD may cut, but won't need to cut as far as Intel.
