Sounds like the elections were cancelled by the Communists as well. After all, can you name one free and fair election that transpired in N. Vietnam?... So your complaint about elections being canceled ring rather hollow.

Wrong. Like I said earlier, you need to learn some history. The reason the US and its allies had the elections cancelled was because of the general concensus that Ho would have won a nationwide vote by a landslide. Was Ho like Ghandi? No. Nor were the French and their Vietnamese allies like the British and their Indian allies. Nor, for that matter, was the US. We put "leaders" up in Vietnam and, when they didn't please us, ran them down--at will.

Nothing personal, but you're being silly and ignorant here, trying to rationalize something that won't bear it. Did you even bother to read the Geneva Accords? Or read about Vietnamese history prior to US involvement? Or are those simply irrelevant to you? After all, before US involvement, what matters?
