Some tidbits from the TI call....

- Wireless handsets are seeing seasonal trends during the quarter (historically up 5% QoQ).

- An analyst probed to see if the recent weakness in the markets was translating to any softness in the business. They responded that they had seen no signs of any changes. Semiconductor orders were up in May versus a mixed record historically.

- The answer to the inventory question was a bit complicated and I should probably relisten to it, but my understanding is that inventories will be up on an absolute basis but that based on days of inventory it should be relatively constant. They dont see any signs of builtup inventory in the channel.

- The big comment (to me) during the call. They were talking about 3G trends and stated that they had come into the year expecting around 100 million units but the analysts are now in the 100-120 million unit range, and they wouldnt push back against that (I believe those were the words). He was asked a follow up on it and reaffirmed the fact that it should be above 100 million. Personally, I think most of the analysts are at 100 million or so....so to me this this seems like an increase from previous expectations.

- They expect to have 3G handsets based on their merchant 3G chipset shipping in volume somewhere between November and next May (12-18 months after they first sampled).
