EDIT : The UN is good at international humanitarian aid and coordinating relief activities. Its a waste of money for anything beyond that. Perhaps we press for 'scrap UN', set up IAF (International Aid Fund). I say UN is good at humanitarian things because I have experienced it - when I was a kid in India, I saw tankers and wagons transporting milk around where I lived - the label said "from the people of New Zealand, with help from the United Nations" - we sure appreciated it.
