Accused terrorists won't likley get a fair trial, Arab groups say

A group, which calls itself Concerned Citizens Against a Rush to Judgment, says a fair trial for the 17 accused in an alleged Toronto terrorism plot will be difficult.

The group, who has joined with the The Canadian Arab Federation, is voicing concern about the way the media is reacting to the arrests.

A spokesman says people are too quick to see all Muslims the same way:

"The Canadian Arabs and Muslims.... we are getting very tired of having to go in front of the media every time there is a weirdo blowing himself up smewhere in the world or who is accused to be a terrorist."

A panel at Ryerson University today said they want the media to give a wider perspective to the arrests and follow-up coverage.

smewhere in the world or who is accused to be a terrorist Somewhere in the world ... ? Like Toronto ?

give a wider perspective to the arrests and follow-up coverage. Wider perspective ? Like maybe one of them held a door open for someone once ?

It's probably all just a misunderstanding anyway... We need to learn to be more tolerant of other cultures and their traditions... some of which may appear to be a tad odd to us... like starting an ammonium nitrate collection...
