10%-20% higher guidance is insubstantial? Yup, we're in a bear market for semi's at least.

Most of that increase in guidance was due to a one-time royalty payment from Conexant....without that, they only raised guidance by about a penny and half.

Still, I would have thought that increasing guidance along with the comments about no signs of a slowdown would have been enough. The analysts comments that I read basically believe that a second half slow-down is coming and that it just hasnt shown up in the numbers yet. I guess the June/July order rates will be the real test for their prediction.

None of the analyst comments that I read mentioned TI's endorsement of a range of 100-120 million WCDMA units this year. That was the most important number to come out of the call for Qualcomm, especially since TI has insight into those areas where they have the least visibility (Nokia's sales of 3G handsets on non-3G networks).
