Suma, if I recall correctly, Zarqawi was reprimanded by Zawahiri for conducting a campaign of terror in which large numbers of Muslims were being killed. Al-Qaeda exists to kill Americans and not Muslims. It is my understanding that the Al Qaeda leadership are Muslim fundamentalists and their belief prohibits them to kill Muslims en masse. So in a way, folks like Al Zawahiri should be happy that the US did away with Zarqawi. And now it remains to be seen who Zarqawi's successor is going to be. Will this person advocate going after Muslim places of worship and Muslim neighborhoods or will this person i ncite his followers to target Americans in the Green Zone, their cafetarias etc.
