Howdy, Cactus! I know what you mean. Back several years ago, we implemented a longer term strategy of "grow our own" lawyers, so to speak, starting with the law clerks. We planned our growth and stayed with a recruiting plan based on anticipated growth. So many law firms wait until they are in bad need of someone new right now and they go hire someone in a hurry. We've done that in the past and had bad long term results. We started our new plan about 5 years ago and it has improved quality and retention. Yep, things going fine, John. Like you, it's just been crazy lately and it's hard to play the market while having competing priorities. I keep working at "life simplification" and trying to kick back more, but it just ain't working. (g) I just sit back and laugh at myself sometimes, and scratch my head. Ah, but life is great and I got the world by the tail in the grand scheme of things. RR
