Microsoft made the Beta 2 version of Windows Vista available for public consumption. The release will be the biggest test yet for the company's next-gen operating system. To get downloading you'll need a free Microsoft Passport account, and you'll have to answer a few screens worth of questions. MS will send you an email to verify your address and then hand over a Product Key and the link to grab a 3-4(?) gigabyte ISO file for burning to DVD. (Alternately they can ship you a DVD in a couple of weeks.) This Vista build isn't for the faint of heart or your main machine. This beta needs 1GB RAM, an accelerated graphics card and 14 GB space once installed.
