LOL! I studied my genealogy a bit and came up with the following:

I'm related to a bunch of slave-holders who got King George III to give them big land grants in South Carolina and whose descendants served on the wrong side of the Civil War.

I'm related to the guy who sold Mr. Sears his share of Sears and Roebuck for $50 grand.

I'm related to the guy who discovered Sodium, Aluminum, and four or five other elements, invented the carbide lamp, and sniffed too much laughing gas (which he invented, but which eventually led to his untimely death).

His descendant was the jerk who left my grandmother within days after my mother was born.

Notorious ancestors aren't what they're cracked up to be.
