On 24th July, Athlon 64 X2 would drop 35% to 50% to against Conroe, while Athlon 64 would drop 20% to 30% to against Pentium D. To save the low level market, Sempron would also drop 10% to 15%, similar to the drop of Intel Celeron.

Will AMD be selling Sempron far below list price? In retail Athlon 64 is already in Sempron price territory and offering better performance. If future price cuts on Athlon 64 are bigger than Sempron why buy one of the faster Sempron models?

Too bad Athlon 64 X2 will likely lag behind Conroe on performance/price even after 35-50% price cuts.
