You mean, the batch of corrupt morons that turned the biggest surplus in history into a crippling deficit in a couple of years? That council of Economic Advisors?

You're confusing labor policy (hiring and firing regulations) with tax policy.

Western Europe's problem isn't tax laws, it's labor policy. Companies aren't allowed to fire people so they refuse to hire people. That simple screw up dwarfs any effects, good or bad, that result from their tax policy.
