AMD said last week that the new transistor (SiGe) is 3 months away and the first 65 nm parts are 3 mos after that. They also said that this new transistor will be 20% faster than the current dual stress liner. I am amazed that none of the forums on the web seem to have listened! Clearly, what's coming next is the new transitor! Given the very high cost of masks, it only makes sense that they would also incorporate any low risk fixes.
