TO ALL-- i am considering taking a position long ascend, but am also thinking in the other direction. can you guys shed soem light? i have looked at some of the basic stuff, seems to be a lot of competition from CSCO and BAY, which is kind of scary, but the 56K modem stuff is downright obnoxious. it seems USRX has been declared the winner when the jury is still way out. what i am interested in is whether or not they are moving toward xDSL technologies, are they into gigabit ethernet, etc. should i be planning on a downgrade/earnings warning in the next week or so? what is the possibility of momentum players getting into this? i want to go long, but there seems to be a lot of uncertainty, and i dont trust analysts. being a long time SI member, i know the value of these boards and the research that appears on them so any advice will be GREATLY appreciated. thanks a lot, and good luck to all, trey
