Perhaps Gore was not quoted correctly when he said:

"This movie tells us we still have a chance to change things," says Gore, who sometimes describes himself as the man who "used to be the next president of the United States of America."

"In the next five or 10 years, you're going to see more and more hurricanes, hotter temperatures and sea level increases."

A bit of Googling gives quite a number of other references quoting Gore as stating that we can expect more hurricanes as a result of global warming.

It is difficult to take Gore seriously if this quote (in the same article) is correct:

"I give my slide show all the time," Gore explains, "but I think its a natural tendency to think the Earth is so big, how can we have such an impact on it? There's a natural reluctance to think of things that are potentially harmful."

As far as Gore is concerned, "the debate is over in the scientific community" as to whether or not global warming will have a devastating effect on the earth within the next decade.

The article I posted quoted several scientists who voiced disagreement with some of what Gore said or implied.
