Charters I do not know where you live, but the Yukon has been my backyard for 35 years. It does not have to be swampy per se. There is always pools of water left over from melting snow.

The moskitos are terrible. The Eskimos and Indians fought for the coast because of food and lack of bugs. There are also black flies-uuggg.

I stayed next to the coast myself because of the bug problem. Few bugs on hte coast--wind I think.

They must have had something for the bugs.

And the North Slope is so bad you would take your life in your hands up there off the coast without bug spray.
