Gore sounded frustrated when he cited the disconnect between scientists, who argue that global warming is a real threat, and the Bush administration, which denies that there’s a problem that requires attention.

“The debate is over in the scientific community,” Gore said. “There’s a consensus. There’s a big contrast between the scientific community and the decision makers in our country. Some people are now conceding that global warming is real, but won’t recognize that we’re the principal cause of it. That’s where President Bush is.”

Maybe it's purely coincidence that carbon dioxide levels haven't been above 300 ppm for the past 400k years, but now it's at 380 or so and climbing 1.5 ppm a year. Maybe we should not worry and be happy, as the song from GWHB's era went. I mostly worry about thermohaline circulation myself.
