The time for military restraint is over – Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz June 13, 2006, 2:42 PM (GMT+02:00) Until now, we exercised military restraint because of the international storm over the Palestinian family [whose members were wounded or killed] on the [Gaza] beach on Friday [June 9, 2006]. That is behind us now, he said Tuesday. Peretz hinted that an IDF inquiry into the incident would prove the casualties were probably caused by a Hamas landmine that was planted on the beach to be used against Israeli forces, and not an IDF artillery shell. Earlier Tuesday, the Israel Air Force fired two missiles at a van carrying an Islamic Jihad rocket-launching squad in Gaza, killing nine people, including two of the terrorists and two children, and wounding 30. New long-range Grad missiles in the van exploded.
