JF, Pretty much, along with the Republicans. More than 33% of voters call themselves independents, and growing.

Doesn't mean a thing. One independent might be a Buchanan conservative, one might be a libertarian, one might be a environmental activist, etc.

I remember the old "third party" thread, which looked more like a wish for the Dems to adopt a more well-defined center-left platform.
