Measurements Conducted at Renowned University Confirm PSI-TEC's Technology Outperforms Competitive Designs by a Factor as High as 700%

WILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 13, 2006--PSI-TEC Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of PSI-TEC Holdings, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PTHO - News), announced today that scientists at the University of Arizona have confirmed that under identical laboratory conditions, PSI-TEC Corporation's recent molecular design (i.e., nanotechnology) outperforms one of the industry's highest performance electro-optic systems by a factor as high as 700%. This new class of molecular designs is expected to serve as the foundation of the company's product base in the telecom and high-speed computer markets with potential applications for the U.S. military and other government agencies.

Dr. Robert Norwood, a research professor at the University of Arizona who supervised the testing procedure, stated, "Our analyses have confirmed that the 1550 nm electro-optic performance (i.e., standard parameters for high-speed fiber-optic telecommunication) of PSI-TEC's newest compound, Perkinamine-NR at low concentrations in PMMA is approximately six to seven times larger than the activity of the same concentration in PMMA of CLD-1, one of the industry's highest performance electro-optic compounds." PMMA is an industry standard material substrate used in the evaluation of organic electro-optic materials.

The University of Arizona boasts one of the most highly renowned and fastest growing optical sciences departments in the world. Dr. Robert Norwood has spent his professional and academic careers developing and managing electro-optic programs. Prior to his position at the University of Arizona, Dr. Norwood worked in senior positions for over ten years at Hoechst Celanese and AlliedSignal, early frontrunners in the field of electro-optics. He is a reviewer for Applied Optics, Applied Physics Letters, IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, Optics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, Journal of the Optical Society of America B, Journal of Physical Chemistry, Nonlinear Optics, among many others. Dr. Norwood holds twenty patents in the field and over two dozen publications and book chapters.

The electro-optic (r33) performance of CLD-1 at equi-molar concentrations in PMMA was measured by University of Arizona scientists to be 1.7 pm/V at 1550 nm. Dr. Norwood explained, "Identical poling fields were applied to the two materials and the measured electro-optic coefficient of (PSI-TEC Corporation's) 3% by weight Perkinamine-NR film was 12 pm/V."

As a result of these positive test results, the company's management and scientists are now in contact with several high-end technology leaders in an effort to customize PSI-TEC Corporation's future product line for specific near-term and anticipated long-term industry applications.
