I never said Zarqawi didn't exist. I said he might not exist because there were two Zarqawis, according to Dick Cheney's BS vs. the more recent Pentagon reports. So one of them had to be lying. Cheney reported (as an excuse to invade) that Zarqawi had a leg blown off in Afghanistan and that Saddam had allowed him in to get treatment at a hospital in Iraq. Cheney gave this as "proof" Saddam was in league with Al Qaida. Reporters looked into that and found zero evidence to support it. No one at the hospital had ever seen the guy. Then there was the Pentagon Zarqawi who could leap out of speeding cars and elude capture. He is also seen in the video where Berg was beheaded (supposedly though everyone wore masks). So which Zarqawi was it? It appears now that Cheney was the one who was lying. Does that surprise you? Cheney lied many times in the run-up to war. Big fat expensive lies too. Also, I think we all have to take these "Al Qaida website announcements" with a big grain of salt. WHo knows who puts out that stuff. Could be anyone, even our side.
