Approval for drilling in ANWAR and off the coast of Cali and Florida would be a catalyst for the energy markets to come back to earth. That event would ease the main inflationary pressure that has tumbled the markets.

So, you can put this downturn squarely in the Democrats' laps, with an assist from the weak Republicans in congress.
