That was only the military part of the plan. I read a book by the officer who organized the Kamikazes, and the entire civilian population was ready to Kamikaze too. The government propoganda had them so terrified of what the Americans would do, they were all ready to die attempting to kill us.

I had been against our use of the A bombs until I read this book. The A bombs actually saved hundreds of thousands of lives on both sides.
