Micheal is a Jewish-American with a huge blind spot regarding Israel, like many Jewish-Americans. Israel counts MORE for them than if it was a US state. If Micheal ever found himself in a position to slip Mossad some top secret intel and they asked him in a manipulative way, he probably would. He's a dual loyalty Jewish-American, and it's not at all clear which loyalty trumps.
