Very good story by Charlie why it is moving to AMD. It makes sense all around.

The lawsuit makes Intel change tactics. Hence the flat pricing that included eliminating some preferencial pricing for Dell. So Dell moves AMD into some of its product lines. Intel is doing it now because of the phase of the lawsuit and because NGA is imminent. NGA allows them to keep on to most business because of performance, instead of preferencial pricing. Because of NGA Dell won't go AMD too much (that's the theory anyway). Intel still has marketing benefits, and quotum benefits that they can leverage to maintain monopoly tactics. It's like one down, two to go.

Rink
