We could get hit by an asteroid tomorrow, too. Are we prepared for that? We could get wiped out by a plague in a matter of months. Are we prepared for that? Why would global warming warrant a higher priority?

My sense is that there is sufficient data to support the occurrence of an earthquake in California and Global Warming on earth but not enough to pinpoint the date of occurrence.

Bird flu is a possibility and we should do a better job preparing for that. But, there is no data on asteroids and undetectable and undetected plagues.
