It comes across as a desperate move. Introduce CPUs and then confirm three weeks later they are to be killed immediately? Does AMD need the capacity because demand is expected to skyrocket in the next six months? Or was it because yields were worse than expected, or because the "on target" FAB36 ramping is rather unimpressive, or because AMD will need to save every dollar it can get in the wake of NGMA and P4s that Intel "can't sell at ANY price", or because AMD doesn't expect substantial K8L revenues for many quarters to come? Is Hector going to gloat about this triumph in the next earnings conference call?
