If people in China are so happy with their government, why doesn't that government allow free elections so they can express their joy?

Communism is not a good system of government for many reasons.

Communism is a horrible system of government and has killed tens of millions of people in the last century. Tens of millions in China alone, as a matter of fact. This is widely known. In fact, I'm sure you know it too.

China has largely abandoned communist economics. If they hadn't there'd be starving people there just as there is in North Korea. I suspect Chinese are mostly satisfied with their government for now. The people alive remember the bad old days and are afraid of them coming back. When that fear is gone, they will no longer tolerate communism.

Tell me, do you think NK is a wonderland filled with happy people too?
