re: Besides, without the harsh view of the UN, it would have been more difficult to expose scandals such as "Oil for Palaces" or UN aid workers sleeping w/ underage prostitutes. I have to wonder how those scandals compare to the US financial scandals in Iraq, or the scandal of Haditha? Would the average American freak out about a couple of US soldiers sleeping with prostitutes in Iraq? Or if UN soldiers killed innocent women and children, in a rage of revenge? Or extraordinary rendition, or Gitmo torture of folks that may or may not be civilians? I guess it's all relative*. UN, US, which is the "home team"? Maybe a "harsh view" the US government is "justified"? Or maybe not... depends on your moral perspective I suppose.
