Dad called from LAND!

Hey folks:

Just got off the phone with dad. He said they had a king's welcome at the marina- that literally a crowd had gathered waiting for their arrival. The whole marina has been anticipating their arrival for almost two weeks-- and dad has no idea how they caused such a stir. He said they have been visiting with various welcoming parties, all complete strangers, for the last couple of hours since they arrived. The food and spirits has been a welcome change-- he mentioned they were down to just jars of peanut butter and crackers near the end.

Dad remarked that it was kind of shocking to finally make landfall. He said that he went to use the marina bathroom and almost froze to death because of the A/C. Pampered landlubbers know nothing of caribbean heat, i guess. Also, I'm sure dad's 1% body fat leaves him especially vulnerable to drastic temp changes.

The plan for closing up the boat and getting back home is still a little murky-- maybe not by fri- could extend to the weekend. One thing's for sure- he said they are getting hotel rooms TONIGHT.

Again--- he wanted to thank everyone for being around-- especially the folks who have kept lil' bit and the entire house alive all these many weeks.
