"If you believe the near term peak oil scenario,"

Been a lot of discussion at the Oil Drum the last few months about "Are we there now?" Right now.
Total liquids have basically been in a plateau for the last 18 months. The folks at the Drum are trying to figure out how much of that is new EtOH, and some CTL projects. They also be thinking SA is now depleting at 2%. When SA peaks, the world peaks.
It's possible oil, per se is there. Stay tuned.

I'm putting out about 5 K for solar, after rebates and credits. It's a 3 year payback. If the contactor ever gets off his butt, I won't ever pay another electrical bill after July. It'll be just like getting a big raise. Too bad the panels weren't made in America. We missed that boat a long time ago.

Having seen Gore on the tube a few times in the last month, I suspect that non quote about the end of civilization is missing the words "As we know it".

Gore's an optimist.
Blair thinks we have 7 years to act.
